Join East Bay authors Steve Early and Suzanne Gordon for the inaugural evening of Writers on Wednesdays — Evergreen's new monthly series bringing East Bay authors to the table for conversations that matter.
Their new book Courage or Complicity? How Labor and Veterans Are Fighting Privatization, Union Busting & Trump (PM Press) reports on how military veterans, their unionized care-givers, and other federal workers are responding to attacks on their jobs, healthcare, workers' rights, and democracy. The conversation will cover the community-labor struggle to prevent the VA and other federal agencies from being defunded, anti-MAGA organizing among military vets within organized labor, and the "Save The VA" coalition building between progressive veterans' groups and healthcare reformers.

Suzanne Gordon is an award-winning journalist who has written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Atlantic, the Nation, and many others. She is the cofounder of the Veterans Healthcare Policy Institute and the author, editor, or coauthor of twenty books
Steve Early has been active in the Communications Workers of America for forty-five years. He lives in Richmond and belongs to the Richmond Progressive Alliance and East Bay DSA.
